The program teaches leadership and life skills to students and empowers them with the mindset that every student can be a leader. This creates a culture that leads to academic, behavioral and social improvements of participating students.
Empowering Students Through Leadership
Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation model that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. Developed in partnership with educators and inspired by Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the process is grounded in the belief that every child has unique strengths and the ability to be a leader.
Through Leader in Me, students learn to become self-reliant, take initiative, set and track goals, prioritize their time, manage emotions, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, value differences, and live a balanced life. By building these habits, Leader in Me helps students develop the confidence and skills they need to lead their lives and succeed in school and beyond.
